  2. VoodooTrain says:

Why did he do that? So that he seems like a more legit bluesman? Please there are 200 guitar players on Youtube 20 times better than this guy. Howlin’ Wolf is probably rolling in his damn grave.

  11. immigrantpep says:

eric clapton hasn’t played his best since the 90’s… he isn’t what he was before…

and john mayer’s solo was really good, they aren’t competing or anything

  12. FruscianteAlways7 says:

are you sure? dont think eric clapton was really playing his best here. john mayer seemed to be trying pretty hard and played a pretty sick solo. dont think clapton needs to prove anything though

  18. zzrdubzz says:

Do you guys not get it? This isn’t a contest, it’s two guys who love blues playing a classic. And GuitarCare doesn’t know what he’s talking about, at this point, neither care about money, they just love good music

  19. Sointula2 says:

Boy, that’s a Lawrence Welk introduction if ever there was one. Like they wee introducing Pat Boone.

  20. spreadtheawesome says:

every guitar player there jizzed their pants.

  21. LostGenerationX84 says:

THANK YOU!!!! The entire purpose behind Clapton era British bands like Cream was to take blues to its musical limits and peaks. Kids these days are about “Who’s better than Who” It’s why music has died. Good musicians find better musicians and jam. But people don’t do that, rather than better themselves, they try to put others down!!

  22. GuitarGare says:

you’re all wrong. Clapton laughs to the bank, & doesn’t even care about soloing or anything-because the royalty cheques after Mr. Johnson’s demise, 75 years later, are now HIS. ‘Me and Mr Johnson’ was a calculated effort, in spite of his love for the blues, to get a pile of cash. In Eric’s words, what he searches for is “beyond facility”.-Something Mayer won’t see anytime soon. Mayer is there to fill “Kiddie Seats.”
